Hallam 89 Theatre Club are excited to be presenting a new play, Women of Steel, by Sheffield writer Celia Lock, to be performed at Frechville Community Centre 24th - 27th September 2026.
We are looking for cast members for speaking and non-speaking roles who would also sing in the chorus and help with props and set.
Roles Available
Speaking parts:
Joan, late 30's-mid 40s, a Woman of Steel and natural leader
Elsie, early - late 30's, a Woman of Steel with problems at home
Ray, mid 30s - mid 40's, Elsie's husband, invalided out of the forces
Derek, early 20s - early 30's, a cheeky conscript and boyfriend of Violet, another Woman of Steel
VE day servicemen (2) early 20's - late 40's, returned from the war
Factory workmen (2) mid 40's - mid 60's, in a reserved occupation so not in the forces
Non speaking parts:

Cast members should be able to attend weekly Wednesday rehearsals 7.30 - 9.30pm at Ranmoor Parish Halls (£4 a session for room hire) and be available for the performances at Frechville Community Centre:
Thur 24th Sept Dress Rehearsal 8-10pm
Fri 25th Sept Performance 7.30-9.30pm
Sat 26th Sept Performance 6-8pm
Sun 27th Sept Performance 2-4pm
